The Julie Ann Robertson Cashour (JARC) Memorial Golf Tournament began in 2001 as an effort to raise money for the JARC Memorial Fund. In just eight years, the JARC Memorial Golf Tournament has raised over $151,000. Organized by Jeff Robertson, Julie's brother, the tournament has been more successful than imagined. It continues to grow year after year, earning over $22,000 for Julie's Fund in 2008.
The tournament is held at the beautiful Whiskey Creek Golf Club in Ijamsville, Maryland. Considered to be one of the area's premier charity golf events, the Julie Ann Robertson Cashour Memorial Golf Tournament provides a day of up-scale golf and three meals prepared by Whiskey Creek staff. A typical tournament day begins with a breakfast buffet, complete with omelet station, fresh fruit, muffins, bagels and Danishes. Tournament play begins at approximately 10:00 am with a shotgun start. A bag lunch is available during the round, followed by a buffet-style gourmet dinner including stations of beef, smoked turkey breast, pasta and salad. Also included are twice baked potatoes, steamed seasonal vegetables and a dessert table. You will not leave this event hungry!
Your entry fee includes three full meals, golf, use of the driving range, as well as entry to several closest to the pin and long drive contests. Additional contests such as the $500.00 Putting Challenge, the $250.00 Long Drive Challenge and the $250.00 Chipping Challenge are available for small entry fees.
The JARC Raffle also will take place during the tournament. Raffle tickets are sold for $1.00 each. Thousands of dollars in prizes are available, ranging from golf hats and shoes to drivers and iron sets. |
