The Julie Ann Robertson Cashour (JARC) Memorial Fund was established in 2000 shortly after Julie's death.  The Robertson and Cashour families determined that Julie's own personal struggle with Neurofibromatosis (NF) would be used to raise awareness and to help others cope with a disease that affects more than 100,000 Americans.  The families met with the Community Foundation of Frederick County MD, Inc. and set the parameters for the fund that would bear Julie's name.  The goals for the JARC Memorial Fund include raising money to support the search for a cure for NF and supporting those coping with a terminal illness.  More importantly, defined as an endowment fund, the Julie Ann Robertson Cashour Memorial Fund will exist in perpetuity, meaning that monies will be disbursed for many years to come.

In its first seven years, the JARC Memorial Fund has disbursed over $28,000 to deserving charities. Those charities include: The Children's Tumor Fund (formerly The National Neurofibromatosis Foundation); NF Mid-Atlantic, Inc. (for Camp New Friends); The NF Cure Project; Children's Hospital; Frederick County Hospice; The Brain Tumor Society; and The Carson Scholars Fund (named for acclaimed neurosurgeon, Dr. Benjamin Carson). Additionally, over $6,000 has been raised through the Julie Ann Robertson Cashour Memorial Golf Tournament for the direct benefit of the Children's Tumor Fund.
